Construction laws today
With their state building regulations, the federal states specify guidelines regarding the building permit procedure. Of course, Deutsche Funkturm adheres to and implements these.
These regulations state, for example, that radio infrastructures with heights of more than 10 meters require a construction permit. The state building regulations include further requirements for building facilities – for example to provide for setbacks or for disfigurement protection.
Extensive legal framework
The legal framework set by the Federal Government and its states specify clear procedures regarding municipal planning and permit processes. These legal specifications are supplemented by federally consistent agreements, which the mobile service providers operating in Germany entered with the municipal umbrella associations and the Federal Government in 2001.
Deutsche Funkturm also must comply with regulations pertaining to ancillary construction laws. These include particularly the legal regulations about historical monument and nature conservation.
You can find further information about construction laws on the websites of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).
